Welcome to Hindus for America. By accessing or using our website, mobile applications, or digital platforms (collectively, the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use our Site.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility & Account Registration

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to register as a volunteer, create an account, or launch a peer-to-peer fundraiser drive on this Site. Minors may participate in volunteer opportunities only with express parental or legal guardian consent.
• Account Security: If you create an account to track donations or manage volunteer activities, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Volunteer Registration, Background Checks, & Conduct

Registering as a volunteer through the Site does not guarantee placement or formal affiliation.

• Accuracy: You agree to provide true, accurate, and current information when submitting volunteer applications.
• Background Screening: To ensure the safety of our community and the integrity of our programs, certain volunteer positions require a background check. You agree that we, or our designated secure third-party screening providers, may conduct background checks in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state laws.
• Liability & Waivers: Formal volunteer participation may require you to sign separate physical or electronic liability waivers, background check authorizations, or confidentiality agreements depending on the nature of the service.
• Code of Conduct: Volunteers utilizing the site's forums or coordinator tools must communicate respectfully. Harassment, hate speech, or unauthorized commercial solicitation are strictly prohibited.

4. Donations & Financial Transactions

• Tax Status: Hindus for America is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity.
• General Terms: All donations made through the Site are final and non-refundable unless a clear technical error occurred during processing. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your contributions based on your individual tax situation.
• Third-Party Processors: We utilize secure, industry-standard third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) to process financial contributions. We do not store or retain your complete credit card or banking details
• North Carolina Statutory Disclosure:Financial information about this organization and a copy of its license are available from the State Solicitation Licensing Branch at 919-814-5400. The license is not an endorsement by the State.

5. Community Fundraising Drives & Peer-to-Peer Campaigns

The Site may feature both organization-led fundraising drives and tools allowing users to set up custom peer-to-peer campaign pages (e.g., birthday fundraisers or community drives) on behalf of Hindus for America.

• Authorization & Right to Terminate: We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any user-generated fundraising page at our sole discretion if it violates our organizational values, mission, or these Terms.
• Direct Fund Routing: All funds collected through approved user-generated or peer-to-peer fundraising pages must route directly and automatically to Hindus for America’s designated financial accounts through our integrated payment systems. Holding, collecting, or diverting funds to personal bank accounts, third-party apps (e.g., personal Venmo/Zelle), or cash collections in our name without explicit written authorization is strictly prohibited.
• Honesty in Marketing: If you create a campaign page, you represent and warrant that all text, images, and narratives used accurately reflect the cause, are entirely truthful, and do not mislead prospective donors. You may not use copyrighted materials without permission.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site—including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software—is the property of Hindus for America or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. You may download or print portions of the site content strictly for personal, non-commercial use or for authorized promotional activities supporting our mission.

7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

• As-Is Basis: The information provided on this Site is for general informational and educational purposes. The Site is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind.
• Limitation: In no event shall Hindus for America, its directors, officers, employees, or volunteers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Site.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to your use of the Site shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal actions or proceedings must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
